The Writers’ Workshop Crime Blog

The Writers’ Workshop is one of Alberon’s existing clients who were interested in a new blog where they could review crime fiction and attract more of their target audience.

The Brief

The Writers’ Workshop wanted a crime fiction blog integrated into the existing website. The purpose of the crime blog is to review all new crime novels in the UK, advertise different competitions and generate more traffic to their existing websites. It was important that the design had a strong “crime identity” with engaging visuals and a fresh look. There needed to be categories in the blog for reviews, interviews and any other items which they may need. It was important to incorporate social media into the blog.

The Solution

Alberon built a crime fiction blog with a bespoke design using WordPress. The blog was integrated into the existing Writers’ Workshop site by using a designed graphic that sits within the left side bar. WordPress plugins were selected and customised to provide custom search and other extra functionalities.

We included social media elements such as Facebook like to engage visitors and promote the site across further channels.
