Oxford Advanced Studies Program
The Oxford Advanced Studies Program offers hundreds of enthusiastic young people, from the USA and elsewhere, the opportunity to study and live in Oxford.
The brief
They wanted a new website that would attract students from abroad to their site. They wanted a fresh new look.
The solution
The site was designed by Visual Philosophy and built by Alberon using CMSMS. This allows the staff to maintain the site themselves. Alberon built a number of custom forms as well.
There is also a Summer Program for people who can only spare a few weeks to visit and study in Oxford. This needed to be a separate site under the umbrella of Oxford Advanced Studies Program.
Both sites needed a little Search Engine Optimisation also to make the transition from the old site to the new one as smooth as possible.
Features
The finished website has the following features:
- All static pages under the control of the CMS, including a news page.
- Forms for enrolment, prospectus and enquiries. Data emailed to the college in a format suitable for data import.
- Search box.
- Site map (automatically generated).
- Pages fully optimised with appropriate meta tags, etc.
Technical notes
The award winning open source content management system CMS Made Simple was used.
