The Story Museum

The Story Museum is a not-for-profit organisation that takes story performances, exhibitions, activities and ideas to schools and communities.

The brief

The Story Museum wanted to create a “virtual museum” through their website, until their permanent, physical museum is built in Oxford.

The website also needed to support their outreach programme, and attract funders for the building project.

They needed to be able to easily manage the website themselves, in order to keep the website up-to-date with news of the building project, and so they can continue to build up the collection of stories available on the website.

The solution

We set up the new website with a content management system, which allows them to update the website themselves at any time.

We also built their Organisation and Project Directory, a searchable directory of organisations and projects that engage children with reading and stories, and 1001 Stories, a collection of audio and video recordings by leading storytellers of tales from around the world.

Technical notes

The main website is built with CMS Made Simple, and the directories are built with IndexU.
