John Vaughan Fowler Braves The Australian Desert

Tuesday 8th December 2009
On the road...

On the road...

John Vaughan Fowler has been covering an average of 93 miles per day in his bid to raise £50,000 for the Roald Dhal foundation by cycling across the Australian desert.

Beseiged by boredom, intense heat, and even the possibility of being mugged by thirsty kangaroos, John is on-target to finish the 2400 mile journey from Darwin to Melbourne.

Visit www.top2bottomdownunder.com to track his progress across the Australian desert, read his blog, and see photographs he has uploaded along the way.
Best of luck, John!

Family of Music Search Sites Live

Monday 30th November 2009

The Chameleon Arts family of music hire websites is complete!

Chameleon Arts home page

Chameleon Arts home page

Chameleon Arts Management needed a family of attractive websites that would allow people to search for musicians by genre or artist speciality. Be it for a wedding, party, conference, concert, or any other performance venue, Chameleon Arts wanted to provide easy access to their artists for online customers.

Chameleon wanted a lively home page, containing news, events, a rotating image gallery and a 'special CD offer' area to encourage buying from the online shop. News and events are managed in one place and exported to all three websites.

Other features throughout the sites include a random 'featured artists' area, a similar artists list, and a 'most popular categories' section, based on user hits.

The artists for each site can be navigated by, for example, occasion or musical genre; also, a bespoke search engine was developed so that searching would behave according to user expectations. Each artist's page contains audio samples, video and images which can be heard and viewed via an elegant "lightbox" style window.

Using the sites, users are able to collate a shortlist of favourites, and then post an email enquiry regarding their availability.

It was important that the list of artists - along with their photos, videos, playlists and sound clips - could be easily managed so a comprehensive administration area was provided using the excellent Symfony framework.

Good all-round Search Engine Optimization was also a high priority and this was extracted from the database with user customisation/extension options.

We're happy to report that our SEO strategy led to the Chameleon Arts wedding site reaching page number 1 on Google (using the keywords "wedding music hire") within three months!

Stowe School – Brand new website launched

Friday 10th July 2009
Stowe School

Stowe School

Stowe School is an independent school in Buckinghamshire. They asked us to re-design and re-develop their website.

They wanted the visitor experience to be engaging, inspiring and reflective of the School's ethos, culture and brand values. Most of all, they wanted prospective parents and students to truly experience Stowe during their visit to the site. There are also separate areas of the site for Stowe House, Stowe Events, and the Old Stoic Society.

We worked with communications experts One Ltd. to deliver a website that is both functional and visually impressive.

"I have been receiving emails all morning praising the site – it is a huge success" commented Tim Scarff, Marketing Director at Stowe.
