Competency Assessment software System for Oxford Brookes University

Oxford Brookes is one of the UK’s leading modern universities. They needed a flexible assessment system for work based learning courses.

brief

Many professional qualifications include an element of work based learning.  In order to gain the qualification, students have to show that they have gained understanding and practical skills in a number of areas known as competencies. During the course students have to provide evidence to show that they have met each competency, and justify how the evidence meets the competency.

The Oxford Brookes University asked Alberon to develop a web based system for competency assessment.

“Alberon have created a really great system for work based learning. I've thoroughly enjoyed working with the Alberon team on this project.”

the solution

the result

The new assessment software provides an efficient system for the markers, reviewers and students to use. Assignments can be set-up quickly and easily by the scheme administrator and work uploaded by the students. Administrators can set final deadlines by which all work needs to be uploaded, at which point the students are locked out of the system so that their work can be marked.
