Oxford City Athletic Club

The Oxford City Athletic Club has been home to all those interested in athletics since it formed back in 1946. Based at Horspath Road in Oxford, the Club continues to provide an excellent platform from which athletes of all abilities can enjoy the sport. The Club was keen to improve communications with its members and the public, as well as automate some of their admin tasks to improve inefficiencies. So they made the decision to get a new website developed.

With over 420 members who take part in the many league and individual competitions, the Club was keen to find a solution that would help manage the membership process and competition entries, but also to effectively communicate news and information to new and existing members.

The Club was looking for a website to act as the central place for Club information and news. It had to look good, engage visitors and be easy to use. They wanted an online membership registration and renewal facility for new and existing members, as well as entry and management facilities for all Oxford City-hosted competitions. They were keen to make this process quicker and more efficient, but also to reduce the admin involved.

“We enjoyed working with Alberon as they were approachable and sensitive to our aims. Alberon has given us a website that goes a long way towards helping to improve the way we interact with our members.”
Richard Hart
Chairman, Oxford City Athletic Club

the solution

Alberon delivered a professional looking website with a clear structure. The new design appeals to both existing and potential Club members looking for information, while additional functionality has reduced admin tasks and made the whole process more efficient.

the result

The Club now has a modern, fresh, responsive website that not only looks great, but is also easier to manage and use. The new functionality has massively reduced the amount of admin involved in processing new memberships and competition entries and improved the overall user experience.

Since going live, the Club has received numerous enquiries from new members and processed a number of online membership payments and competition entries for the upcoming season. “Since the website launched we have received excellent feedback from members about the look and feel of the site” says the Club’s chairman, Richard Hart, “they like the way it works and the fact that we have moved some of our functions online”.
